Last updated: October 14, 2026. This policy describes how Watchman Tower collects, uses, and protects your personal data when using our services.
What We Collect
We collect your email, device info, usage preferences, and monitoring data. Anonymous usage data and error logs may also be collected to improve our services.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to provide monitoring services, send alerts, manage your account, and provide support. We never sell your data.
Third-Party Services
We use trusted providers to run the service: Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (network and security), Google and GitHub (sign-in), Firebase and Expo (push notifications), Slack (only if you connect it), and email and SMS delivery providers for alerts. Each provider processes data only to deliver its part of the service and has its own privacy policy.
Storage & Security
Data is stored on servers in Germany with encryption in transit and restricted administrative access. Monitoring checks run from multiple regions in Europe, North America and Asia.
Data Retention
We keep your account, monitors, incidents and uptime statistics while your account is active. Detailed records are deleted automatically: successful request logs after 7 days, other request logs after about 90 days, server metrics after 35 days, and WordPress alerts and condition history after 90 days. Deleted monitors are kept for 7 days so you can restore them, then permanently removed. If you ask us to delete your account, we complete it within 30 days, except data we must keep for legal or billing reasons.
AI Assistants and Connected Apps
You can connect Watchman Tower to AI assistants such as Claude (Anthropic) and ChatGPT (OpenAI) through our connector at mcp.watchmantower.com. When you connect, you sign in to Watchman Tower and choose what the assistant may do. Read access to your account, monitors, incidents, status pages and servers is always included; adding, pausing, resuming and deleting monitors is allowed only if you enable it on the consent screen. The connector returns only data from your own account, limited to what each request needs. We do not receive or store your conversations, prompts, memories or files from the assistant. Data the assistant receives from Watchman Tower is processed by its provider under that provider's terms and privacy policy. Access tokens expire after one hour and refresh tokens after 30 days, and you can revoke a connection at any time from API Keys → Connected apps in the dashboard.

Cookies
Our mobile app uses no cookies. Web version may use minimal cookies for session tracking.
Children's Privacy
Our service is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data.
